Passion and inspiration
My journey as a conservation scientist began in early 2014 when I made a bold decision to change the path of my career as a packaging- color specialist at the second largest retailers in the world, Target Corporations to pursue a PhD program in which scholarship and a thesis topic were waiting for me. The topic is about art and science. That decision was made simply because of the answer: I love art. I have studied science throughout my life, but I have always had a passion for art. Being a PhD student who had to read many articles opened my eye to art conservation and the use of scientific techniques in art conservation. This made me realize that I was passionate about the field of art conservation and was ready to spend the rest of my life working on this. As fate would have it, after completing my PhD research, my path to applying scientific knowledge to art began. I was hired by a private organization, an art conservation studio, to set up a scientific laboratory for art analysis, which was probably the first place in Thailand at that time (2019).
Expertise and Dedication
Examination of work of painting is a specialty that I enjoy. I get excited about seeing and analyzing new paintings every day, and that I have experience using a variety of techniques to find answers hidden in paintings. However, my projects not only cover painting but a wider range of artworks, including sculptures and carvings, in a variety of materials such as wood, metal, fabric, and ceramic.
Looking forward
Presently, I am a freelance conservation scientist in Bangkok, Thailand. I am constantly seeking new projects and bringing them to fruition.
