"I must have flowers, always, and always"

Claude Monet

Before I say anything, I would like to say "I love art and I love flowers".

I found that I was passionate about art since I was in primary school and that when I was in high school, I intended to enter an art university. At that time, my parents had the old-fashioned idea that studying science would have a better career path than studying art, something like artists being poor. I believe my parents and that it 's the only reason made me enter the Faculty of Science. After having diploma in the analytical chemistry field, I continued to further study photographic science and printing technology, where I could learn something closely related to art. After graduated master of science in imaging technology, I started my career path in a field related to my studies.

Not many years later, I took myself back to practice painting as hobby by learning with the artist.

After practice using acrylic paints, I had a great opportunity to get to know famous China-paining artists in Thailand and became their students. In addition, self-learning by reading books written by many Western artists made my china painting even more fun.

Oil painting is another chapter of my life that I have been inspired by my professional work as a conservation scientist. I am keen to know about this technique. How is it executed ? What are the feelings and emotions that occur while working on oil painting ?

I found that oil painting can complement the feeling that comes from Chinese painting very well. When painting tiles or porcelain, it is necessary to control the amount of oil to be small and the amount of paint to be thin. The nature of this type of painting is not suitable for thick paintings because the paint may crack after firing. In contrast, the alla prima I like to do for my oil painting is thick, showing a clear brush stroke.

There are many times I ask myself whether I should choose to do one type of work so that I can focus on practicing my skills. But my feeling is telling "no, please continue to do both at the same time. It is challenging to balance both simultaneously. Until one day, fate led me to work as a conservation scientist. I use my doctorate degree to analyze art, especially the materials used to create these valuable artworks, to provide useful information for the conservation and restoration of art.

Currently, as the conservation scientist, I devote most of my time to analyze artworks, writing academic articles related to art analysis, and most importantly, creating my own art by painting on- glaze china painting and oil painting. For my oil painting, I combined the knowledge and techniques of the old masters with intense colors and the use of brushes in painting. I also combined my knowledge and background in materials science for art to create my own art.

I so much in love flowers, vivid flowers painting is my specialty and passion, nonetheless still life painting is also my favorite.

If you want to collect my artwork, either a china or oil painting, please contact me.

"I love flowers and nature, so when I get a chance to paint, they are the first thing I paint and I enjoy them. Flowers have a certain power, and their emergence and blooming give me positive energy, but even when they wither away, they teach me the truth of life".
